I like to showcase future subscription box contenders that are new and up-&-coming, lesser known, or just in a league of their own.

In this post, I will be showcasing the new cosmetic subscription box BrowBox. Get ready for some serious brow fun with this box!

I have been obsessed with getting the perfect brows since high school, but my brows have gone through some pretty crazy stages throughout the years. I shudder looking back at old pictures when my eyebrows were giving some serious Bert from Sesame Street vibes. I would post the images, but no one needs to see that…like ever again. Thankfully, I’ve lived and learned and found what works for me.

Not to be dramatic, but i’m a firm believer that eyebrows can change the entire look of your face, so it’s an important part of my makeup routine now. That’s why I was super excited when I was contacted by Chantal from Eden’s Brow Bar to review her new makeup subscription box, BrowBox. BrowBox sends you brow essentials and fun brow themed items every other month.

Let’s get to the review!

Sign-Up & Canceling Process

As I received this box free of charge, I didn’t go through the sign-up process. But since The BrowBox goes through Cratejoy (a subscription box marketplace), the sign-up process is incredibly easy. Simply choose your desired eyebrow color and if you want more pencil or powder products. You can cancel easily through Cratejoy as well.

Value & Quality

As I have black hair, I chose the dark brown pencil box. The box I received was the Frida Kahlo themed December box.

A majority of products in this box are The BrowBox brand, so there isn’t anywhere else you can find these items. They do sell the products in this box on their site Eden Makeup, so to find the true value of this box I just included the price of the products listed on their site, if you were to buy them individually (separately from the subscription box).

I recieved:

  • Eden Skinny Brow Pencil in the shade Dark Brown ($18)
  • Eden Brow Shadow in the shade Dark Brunette ($16)
  • Handaiyan Liquid Eyebrow Microblading Pen in the shade 02 ($12)
  • Frida Kahlo Tree Ornament ($11)
  • “What Would Frida Do” T-Shirt ($24)
  • Eyebrow Keychain ($4)
  • Spoolies (x3)

The true retail value of this BrowBox was around $85.

Both the pencil and brow shadow were really pigmented, which was great! A little went a long way with the brow shadow, so I can see this lasting for a while. The texture of the pencil was creamy and easy to work with. The one issue I had with the pencil, was sometimes the twisting mechanism would take down the tip of the pencil if even a little pressure was applied.

Now with the microblading pen, I received the shade “#02” which looked a little more tawny than dark brown. After looking at the Eden makeup site, I probably would’ve much preferred the shade “#04”, as it seems much darker. Even so, I still liked this pen. But as most of these pens go, it starts out really pigmented but tends to dry out. It was still nice to get a trendy eyebrow product like this in the box anyway.

The ornament, shirt, and keychain were all so adorable. Very on theme. I also liked that BrowBox offered larger sizing (XXL) with the shirt.

Overall Experience

Overall, I enjoyed this box. It was different and unique. The value and quality were also pretty good.

Things I Liked:

  • Products were good quality.
  • Cute little brow themed goodies are included, not just brow products.
  • Being a bi-monthly box makes sense for the type of product you get in this box. You don’t necessarily need brow products every month, so every other month is a great box frequency.

Things I Didn’t Like:

  • Shipping price is on the costly side for a package like this. This reduced the value of the box for me.
  • If you don’t end up liking the Eden Makeup brand, then it wouldn’t make sense to get/keep this box.

Would I try again: Yes

Bottom Line: This box is perfect if you’re into everything brows and it’s the only subscription box out there dedicated to brows.
